Swedish asylum policy: imposing harsh living conditions
to asylum seekers must be changed
Subhuman living conditions, cruel murders, torture, executions, contempt, injustice, insecurity, denial of basic freedoms and rights, a ban on participation in peaceful trade union and political demonstrations and membership in political parties and work organizations, unfair judgments and other inhuman activities.
People who suffer such outrages are fleeing their homes and seek refuge elsewhere. Something they had never thought or planned to do. Iran is the country that created the most inhumane laws and regulations against its residents from anywhere in the world.
Despite these facts, many countries ignore the fundamental human rights including the right of asylum for these people.
Sometimes denied even other human rights, many Iranian asylum seekers in Sweden live in inhumane, unsafe and odd terms such as most do not have work permits, financial assistance and opportunities to study or receive medical treatment if they become ill. There are hundreds of Iranian asylum seekers who have lived in such conditions for over ten years. It is unclear what is meant by asylum in European countries; the conditions to be met and the status a country should have so that the people who are fleeing from it considered asylums.
Asylum policy which the Immigration Service applies ignores the Iranian regime's criminal and inhuman misdeeds, as it has been openly exposed to the world.
The asylum seekers tales of the tyrannical rule are undeniable. The way that Canada deals with asylum seekers is contrary to UN Convention for the right of asylum. Asylum seekers are living in constant threat of deportation, no general rights such as education, work and health care and hence they live in continuous stress, anxiety and fear. A reduction of the already low level of financial support for Asylum seekers who have been rejected and the elimination of travel and the stop language of education causes more problems, worry, anxiety and fear.
This is a call to all freedom-loving people of Sweden, Iranian residents who are fighting for the defense of the right of asylum, organizations and institutions that defend and
work for human rights to support us in this crucial matter and support the asylum seekers human requirements. The International Federation of Iranian Refugees in Gothenburg-Sweden asks all asylum seekers in Gothenburg and the surrounding area to participate in this campaign to defend the right of asylum.
Our demands are:
1. Granting work permits to asylum seekers from day one.
2. More financial support for asylum seekers to a minimal standard of living.
3. Taking into account the fact that Iranian asylum seekers have fled a country that is very uncertain, both socially and politically where human rights are constantly violated
4. Acceptable conditions of living for asylum seekers as per minimum standard of living.
5. Granting residence permits to Iranian asylum seekers and lifting the deportation threat to Iran.
6. Residence permits to all eligible asylum seekers, and lifting the deportation of dictatorial countries.
